Food is a hugely important part of life at Firhall Guest House. That is why when you stay here you’ll find the very best of what Scotland’s larder has to offer. We go out of our way to source a wide selection of high quality, Scottish produce for you to enjoy – most of which comes from right here in the Highlands. Your host and cook Stuart loves to create new dishes with the best ingredients Scotland has to offer, so that you’ll always find something new and exciting to tantalise your taste buds here at Firhall.
Our very own free range hens are Scottish bred and born. These Muirfield Layers® Black Rock hens are perfect for producing the freshest eggs for you, straight from our garden to your plate, everyday.
Sample awarding winning haggis, black pudding, sausages and bacon supplied by our local butcher Grants of Speyside. As well as freshly ground coffee from Cairngorm Leaf & Bean, who roast and grind their coffee just outside of Grantown. Our milk, butter and yoghurts even come from Scottish coos by way of the fantastic Graham’s Dairy. Guests find that their products really are some of the best they’ve ever tasted!
Don’t forget Firhall’s (not so) secret weapon…the ‘Ewing Family Shortbread’. Now known around the world and only available at Firhall and our sister property Strathallan. This recipe has been handed down over generations to be shared with you during your stay. You’ll find them in every bedroom, in sealed Kilner jars for you have a sneaky taste.
